| Restored
in 1999,Villa Calma is a 2678 sq. ft home built in 1910. The Great Room,
located on the main level is where you will not only enjoy a gourmet breakfast,
but you can also sink into a sofa or chair and read a book, watch cable
television, or a movie on DVD. We have a wide variety of movies to choose
from. The view of Lake Bemidji from any of the 6 large windows in the Great
Room is breathtaking. Follow the hardwood floors from the Great Room, through
the dark oak French doors into the Parlor. There you will find a bookcase
filled with an array of reading materials (books, magazines and puzzles).
On the bottom shelves of the bookcase you can choose a game to play or a
deck of cards for an individual game of solitaire. If you want to spend
hours of time relaxing over a jigsaw puzzle either alone or with a friend,
there are several to choose from. From the Parlor or the Great Room, you
can exit onto the wrap-around three season porch. Put your feet up and escape
into moments of solitude or sit at one of 3 granite top bistro tables and
play a game of checkers. Exiting the porch, you can walk out onto a large
elevated deck facing the lake. Stretch out on a lounge chair and take a
nap or sit under an umbrella and enjoy a cold beverage. |

| The
house is located in the middle of a large scenic piece of property surrounded
by flower gardens, trees and a turn of the century original wrought iron
fence on three sides. In the southeast corner of the yard is a bonfire pit.
Play a yard game, lie on the double hammock or recline on a lounge chair
and relax. |

From the
South. Follow MN197 (Paul Bunyan Drive) heading north approximately
1.6 miles to 6th Street. Turn right and follow the street curving to the
left (turns into Lake Boulevard). Follow Lake Boulevard to 10th Street,
turn left. Proceed to the next left (Dewey Avenue). Villa Calma is the
second house on your left (first driveway) after you have turned on Dewey
Avenue. The guest entrance is located on the north side of the house,
so follow the sidewalk staying to the left.
From the
North. Follow MN197 (Paul Bunyan Drive) south to the 10th Street stoplight.
Turn left going 1 short block to the next right (Dewey Avenue). Villa
Calma is the second house on your left (first driveway) after you have
turned on Dewey Avenue. The guest entrance is located on the north side
of the house, so follor the sidewalk staying to the left. |
